Michael Ehinger, VP – Trumpf Huettinger | Topic: Cost Reduction of PV-Cells Driven by Power Supplies in Combination With IoT

TRUMPF Huettinger is serving PV-Cell tool makers with PECVD power supplies for depositing best in class a-Si / AlOx / SiN / TCO layers. These are one of the most critical components having an influence on the future cost reduction for PV Cells.

EFFICIENCY:

The efficiency of the PV-Cell is THE key where every 0.1 % counts. The precision and quality of deposited layer is imperative for maximizing the efficiency of a PV-cell.

CAPEX:

The cost for manufacturing equipment was also going through the Scale of economy. To continue this trend, a paradigm change for PECVD power supplies is needed. Multi-Output power supplies are promising product architectures.

THROUGHPUT:

Throughput is very much dependent on Tool uptime, Yield, deposition rate and quality. PECVD power supply quality grants highest possible uptime, effective ARC Management leads to a high cell yield and the deposition rate defines the speed.

IoT services are an additional option to improve these Key Performance Indicators.
