Keynote Speaker: PROF ARMIN GERHARD ABERLE, CEO – SERIS & INSTITUTE’S SILICON MATERIALS & CELLS CLUSTER | Topic: Progress with Industrially Relevant Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells and Modules at SERIS
Crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar cells continue to dominate the global solar photovoltaic market, with a market share of more then 90% and factory sales prices of the mainstream p-type PV modules of less than 0.35 US$/Watt. This contribution describes recent progress at SERIS with industrially relevant crystalline silicon solar cells and modules, covering both p-type and n-type cells. Technological advances discussed in this contribution include texturing of diamond-wire sawn multi-Si wafers, improved electronic passivation of the surfaces, and screen-printed passivated-contact solar cells with efficiencies of more then 22%.
