Biography

Dr Markus Fisher is Vice President R&D Operation at Hanwha Q Cells GmbH. He has been a co-chairman of the international Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaic (ITRPV) since 2010. Dr Fisher has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and crystalline Silicon PV industry. He joined Q Cells in 2007 after working in different engineering and management positions with Siemens, Infineon, Philips and NXP. As Vice President R&D Operation he is responsible for development and implementation support of process technology and production equipment of current and future c-Si solar cell concepts. Dr Fisher studied solid state physics at the Dresden University of technology and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1997 from University of Stuttgart.

Abstract

After a brief status on Hanwha Q Cells, the presentation will review the PV learning curve status and will discuss main findings of the 11th edition of the ITRPV including the new maturity report. The update reviews the maturity status of several parameters in wafering, cell, and module technology. We will discuss the status against the background of the updated PV price learning curve.
