Michael Salvador earned a M.Sc. in Chemistry from University of Cologne (2002) and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from University of Cologne (2008). He was a postdoctoral researcher at Caltech and University of Washington (USA) and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany). He led collaborations in international and multidisciplinary project teams. Today, he is a Technology Lead at Kaust Solar Center, where his focus is on moving transformational energy technologies out of the lab and into the stage of prototyping for real-world applications. His works have been cited >1,000 times. He co-founded Mirai Solar, a startup that develops flexible solar panels for greenhouses.
